ID : 20848
« back to classes page
Learn and practice the basic welding processes most commonly used in industrial fabrication: Oxy-Fuel Welding, Brazing and Cutting along with Plasma Cutting, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, and Gas Metal Arc Welding (including Flux-Core Welding).  Covers safety procedures, common shop procedures, welding tools and equipment, and welding drawing interpretation.

The second part of the class will focus on refining skills required to make flat, vertical and overhead welds on Steel Plate. You'll be engaged in extensive practice welding using the FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding) process. The completed course prepares students to take the AWS certification test in 1G (Flat), 3G (Vertical) and 4G (Overhead) positions in accordance with D1.1 Structural Welding Code-Steel. These skills will prepare students for employment as entry-level Structural Welders.

Note: Welding textbook included in class tuition. Welding textbook: Principles and Applications, Eighth Edition BOOK IS PROVIDED AS PART OF THE FEES AND WILL BE HANDED OUT AT THE FIRST CLASS.
