Emergency Medical Technicians EMTs have the basic knowledge and skills necessary to stabilize and safely transport patients ranging from non-emergency and routine medical transports to life threatening emergencies. Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response system, under medical oversight. Emergency Medical Technicians perform interventions with the basic equipment typically found on an ambulance. 
Graduating students are eligible to take the National Registry for EMT’s (NREMT) exam required by the state of Virginia. This course meets the State of Virginia and NREMT requirements for EMT training.

Prerequisite: 18 years or older, CPR certification is required (student must provide valid CPR for Healthcare Providers card)
