Reading and Writing Today's Poetry: Surely, you've heard Shakespeare's famous lines: "To be, or not to be: that is the question" or  the well-known love poem, "Roses are red / violets are blue." Often we associate literature with what was introduced in a high school English class; yet poetry is much more than one style of writing. This class combines interactive exercises and presents the many subjects and forms of modern poetry. Find your writing voice, learn how to convey your thoughts in your own unique style, discover the influence of today's poetic voices, and complete a poem of your own. Whether this is your first poem, or you need creative inspiration and a supportive environment to get the creative juices flowing, this class is for you!   Bring your favorite writing utensil and a notebook.
