Hiring for Fit

Hiring is one of the most important and challenging roles an organization faces. There are many important criteria to consider when evaluating a candidate’s potential fit.  When you bring someone new onto the team, you want that person to be a long-lasting, valuable employee within your organization.  If this sounds like your company’s priorities, there are several ways to build cultural fit into your recruiting and hiring processes. Recognition or Appreciation: Do you Know the Difference?

Organizations continue to confuse appreciation and recognition. Simply, appreciation is nice and we should do more of it, where recognition is all about proving how actions speak louder than words—it’s attention from the most important person at work, the leader. Our question should not be whether we should be focusing on recognition or appreciation. Instead, we need to create an environment of appreciation for each other and recognition for our direct reports. It is possible to genuinely appreciate and recognize in the same environment.

How a Wellness Plan Can Save You Big Bucks

In today’s competitive work environment, employees are more stressed than ever. Under pressure to perform faster and at higher levels than in the past.  Sixty-two percent of U.S. employers offered some type of wellness program in 2018. Employers recognize that to perform their best, employees must be healthy. Employers are also beginning to recognize the need for a holistic approach to employee health, which includes physical, mental, and social well-being.  There are innovative ways to show employees that an investment in their health is one way you, the employer cares about their life inside and outside of the workplace.
