MNJ1 Introduction to Machine Tool Practices I

CourseGraphic You pay only $233 if you qualify.  Prerequisite - Fundamentals of Fabrication.  The fundamentals for Manual Machine Tool practices for the Lathe, Mill, and Drill Press will be explained and demonstrated during this class.  Topics include:  machine tool safety, proper drilling speeds, different types of drill bits and their coatings related to drill press operations.  How to dial-in an out-of-round shaft in a four-jaw lathe chuck.  Turning and milling speeds along with feed rates will be put into practice during this class.  You will work side-by-side with your instructor to complete NIMS machining projects on our brand new ProtoTrak machines.  Students will complete a NIMS Machine Tool project and take a NIMS online quiz (Drill Press skills) to earn a NIMS credential.  
Safety glasses are required.
