CourseGraphic Whether you're writing for personal expression or to reach an audience (or both), you want your writing to effectively use the techniques and strategies at your disposal. This course demonstrates how to use writing devices like imagery, metaphor, voice, character, and structure to enhance your writing and communicate more powerfully. Readings of short pieces that display these strategies, and discussions of our own writings help build a unique and individual style. We will look at successful writers working today on both the local and national level, and discuss outlets for publication and ways to obtain further feedback on your work.
