This seminar is a companion to Leading with Civility: Conflict, Change & the Courage to Be Clear (Session 1) and goes deeper into the cognitive, relational, and systemic roots of conflict. Designed for leaders and teams, it equips participants with five integrated frameworks to recognize and interrupt the automatic patterns that drive miscommunication, chronic conflict, and broken trust — and to replace them with more intentional, effective ways of engaging.
Learning Objectives:
• Understand How Minds Construct Reality: Trace the full arc from raw data to action through the Ladder of Inference, the neuroscience of perception, and the reflexive loop that keeps us stuck.
• Recognize the Drama Patterns We Create: Identify Karpman's Drama Triangle roles (Victim, Persecutor, Rescuer) and learn to shift into TED* (The Empowerment Dynamic): Creator, Challenger, Coach.
• Map Conflict as a System: Apply Goldratt's Evaporating Cloud to surface hidden assumptions beneath seemingly irreconcilable positions and find win-win solutions.
• Interrupt the Patterns — On Purpose: Use Kyaio's Win-Win framework, Crucial Conversations tools, and Brown's vulnerability-based trust practices to change how teams engage conflict in real time.
